Go Vote 08 PSA Contest
The Go Vote PSA Contest is back with bigger prizes than ever!
Grab your video camera and record a 30-second public service announcement to promote the vote and win prizes.
Theme: "Go Vote!"
Use comedy, drama, music, animation, sock puppets, anything to creatively convey the importance of voting in this year's election.
Divisions
- High School Student
- College Student
- Non-Student (for anyone not in college or high school)
Prizes (for each division)
- 1st Place: $500
- 2nd Place: $100
- 3rd Place: $50
PLUS one grand-prize winner will get a bonus $500 for a total of $1,000!
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS!
Your PSA must be:
- 30 seconds (on the dot ... or as close as humanly possible)
- nonpartisan -- your PSA cannot support or attack any candidate or party
- TV-PG (Keep it clean!)
ALSO! You must NOT use any copyright-protected material (music, video, graphics, etc.) Stick with royalty-free music or music you've made yourself.
DEADLINE: Oct. 1, 2008
Submissions will be accepted any time between now and Oct. 1. If you mail your entry, it should be postmarked by Oct. 1.

- telephone number
- specify which division you are in (high school, college, non-student)

Post your PSA on a video-sharing service (like YouTube), then fill out the form below, including the link to your posted video. (Note: Please keep a DVD or MiniDV copy of your video ready since selected entries will be distributed to television stations throughout North Carolina.)

The Fine Print
The Go Vote 08 PSA Contest is sponsored by the N.C. Center for Voter Education (NCCVE), a 501(c)3 nonprofit and nonpartisan organization based in Raleigh, N.C., dedicated to improving elections in North Carolina. There is no entry fee. NCCVE staff, board members and family members thereof are prohibited from entering in the contest. Entries that violate copyright law and/or present the work of others as their own will be disqualified. The judgment of NCCVE in awarding contest prizes and in implementing contest rules is final. By submitting an entry to the Go Vote 08 PSA Contest, entrants give permission to the N.C. Center for Voter Education to distribute their entries to various media outlets for broadcast and online viewing, and allow NCCVE to post the entries online and to use the entries in promotional materials for NCCVE and to promote future Go Vote PSA Contests.
