Center Welcomes New Director of Outreach

RALEIGH - The N.C. Center for Voter Education has hired Brent Laurenz as its new director of outreach.

Laurenz received a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech University and a master's degree in political management from the George Washington University. With experience in political campaigns and government relations, he joins the Center after having worked with the Civil War Preservation Trust in Washington, D.C., a nonprofit organization devoted to the preservation of endangered Civil War battlefields.

“We are pleased to have someone of Brent’s dedication to civic engagement join us at the Center as we continue our work of empowering voters,” said Damon Circosta, executive director of the N.C. Center for Voter Education.

As director of outreach, Laurenz will oversee Center internships, youth programs, events and other special projects engaging voters across the state.

Founded in 1999, the N.C. Center for Voter Education is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, dedicated to helping citizens more fully participate in democracy.
